Meet The New Asia OPU Coordinator, Salami Kehinde


The Oodua Progressive Union (OPU, a pan-Yoruba organisation, formed in 2011 to create an enabling platform for the sons and daughters of Yoruba ancestors in Diaspora.

The OPU was born in Great Britain, but was officially launched in India November 2012, on September 7th, 2013 Great Britain was launched followed by the launch in Holland on September 14th, France on September 12th, Germany on September 10th, in 2013.

The group was formed by the world known socio-cultural activist and cultural Icon, Otunba (Dr) Gani Adams as a way of fostering unity among the Yoruba race, as well as providing a platform for all Yoruba sons and daughters in the Diaspora and to work for the common interest of Yorubaland. The organisation now exists in 78 countries across the world

In its quest to expand the structure of the organisation, the Oodua Progressive Union (OPU) has just appointed a young, dynamic and resolute man to paddle the affairs of OPU in the Asia continent.

His name is Salami Kehinde Abiodun. Born in the late 70's precisely. Popularly known as Alawori

A native of Iba Town, Iba Local Government in Lagos State.

Mr. Salami attended Zumiratul Islamiya Primary School Amuwo Lagos State.

He further his Secondary School education at Amuwo Grammar School Lagos State .

He studied Economics at Lagos State University Ojo Campus ( LASU) between l998- 2003.

Salami Kehinde is presently The CEO Kenolt Global Constructions. Ikorodu Lagos State.

Mr. Salami was the Deputy Coordinator of Oodua Progressive Union (OPU) in Malaysia, the position he occupied before he was appointed by the Convener of Oodua Progressive Union, Otunba Gani Adams due to his commitment and determination to growth of OPU in Malaysia and the entire Asia continent
