DSS stops peaceful protest of Yoruba group, Arrests members.

The Directorate of State Security (DSS) personnel in Ibadan has stopped and arrested some members of Egbe Omo Oduduwa from protesting in the State.

The peaceful protest which was supposed to hold today 12th June in front of the Government House Agodi Ibadan, was truncated by the men of the DSS, and other security agencies such as the military, and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officials.

The protesters who gathered to protest against the incessant attack of the Fulani herdsmen on their farmland and their families and also to protest the attack of the fulani herders that are terrorizing the southwestern region of Nigeria  were chased and some were arrested.

The DSS officials on ground tried all their best to ensure that the protest did not hold but the protesters insisted and in the process, the DSS officials arrested them.

Dr. Kunle Hamzat, Akeem Lawal, also known as Aluta and two others were arrested during the peaceful protest, thereby putting an end to the protest as most of the remaining protesters were running for their lives.

When contacted on phone for clarifications over the incidence, the State Police Publicity  Officer SP Olugbenga Fadeyi said " I have not been briefed on the matter, it sometimes take hours before i am properly briefed on some certain incident". He said
