Oyo Election is Free And Credible - Oyo REC


The Independent National Electorial Commission (INEC)Oyo State REC Barr. Mutiu Agboke, has declared that Oyo State election is the most free, fair and credible in the country.

Barr. Mutiu made this statement today 19th June at the Second Oyo State Youth Summit which was held at Mauve 21 Event centre Ibadan.


Agboke who was one of the keynote speakers  said "with the support of both the various groups of youths, Market women, pressure groups, the religion bodies and everyone in Oyo State made it possible for us to achieve that level of success."

"With your supports and encouragement, I stood on my ground that Oyo election will be fair, free and that all votes must count and that is what really happened, all of your votes were counted and the result is what we all witnessed, but if anyone said he has something else or saw me collecting money from anyone in guise of offering him or her favourable results can come out and tell the whole world.

" if anyone said he saw me or someone, or any of our Officials written any of the concluded election results can come out and tell the world, and I promise the person an award. "


In his own contribution, the second keynote speaker at the event, Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Edward Debo Ogundoyin who was ably represented by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Abiodun Mohammed Fadeyi said the political Official should make themselves available and accessible to the youths in their area, they should be on ground to assist them and also help them to achieve their dreams.

"They should be there to assist the youths, and the youths also our  youths should also be involve in politics, as this really help in decision making, for instance our Speaker who is the youngest Speaker of House of Assembly in the entire Nigeria was rightfully projected into politics, and as at appropriate time, so if we have enough youths in politics then, they will be part of the decision makers. " Fadeyi said.

Earlier in her welcome address, the National Council of Nigeria Youth Oyo State Chapter Coordinator Mrs. Agbeja Adebobola said, "several policies have been formulated but does not only development that can be mapped but problems are also mapped and these mapping are done in line with the People facing the identified problems.

" the legislative arm is strictly an assembly for the youths and we believed this 9th assembly will show the world why youths are the rightful heir of leadership. " Adebobola said.
